The idea of a fabric journal is that you spend time stitching and creating collages onto the pages using a variety of different materials such as fabric, ribbon, buttons, sequins, stamps and ink, fabric paint etc. think of it as scrapbooking but with fabric!
In the video tutorial, I'll show you how to make your own journal. I'll show you what sort of materials you can use but please note that this isn't a tutorial to show you how to make your collages. There are no rules as to what you create in your journal, they allow you to experiment and find your inner creative side!
Slow stitching is a beautiful hobby to have and so why not make it even more special by sewing collages made from bits of fabric that mean something to you or that you've collected.
In your kit will be the following. You will also need some of these materials if you decide to just buy the tutorial and make your own:
Fabric for the cover (you can make your journal any size you like but I make my covers 12 x 7 in and then fold in half)
Iron on interfacing (optional, same size as cover)
Soft felt or fabric for the pages (4 large size in your kit)
Stiffer felt or fabric rectangles to sew your collages onto (4 incl in your kit)
Embroidery thread x 2
Fabric scraps
Buttons
Lace and ribbon
Sequins and beads
Sewing thread
Beautiful rub on stickers and cotton material to add them to
(You will also need scissors and sewing/ embroidery needles.)
Please note that the tutorial is a video that you will be able to access to watch in your own time, this is not an online workshop at a specific time or date. You will get lifetime access to the video and so you can make your embroideries whenever you like! Please note that the link is not shareable and is for your viewing only.
All these options are only available to buy if you live in the U.K, sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Please allow up to 5 working days for dispatch.
🛑 Please do keep your kits well away from children due to the small parts which are a choking hazard.
